Telescopic Boom Operator

Desired Qualifications

A valid, recognized heavy-duty or mobile crane operator license / permit is mandatory, accredited by an institution regulated by Zambia Qualification Authority

A Grade 12 education certificate.

Valid Certificate of Fitness to Operate Lifting Equipment.

Desired Experience

A minimum of 3 years of verified boom-operator experience, especially on complex structural construction sites.

Basic literacy and numeracy skills to understand operating manuals, safety signs, and work instructions

Project specific Requirements (Dover Test)

Key Responsibilities

Operate telescopic handlers to lift, move, and place materials on construction sites.

Maintain total safety compliance and understand DSTI daily activities, related hazards and control measures; and only operate the crane when sure that you are physically fit to do so.

Perform equipment checks, and follow site safety procedures to support efficient construction operations.

Conduct pre-start and post-start daily checks on fluids, tyre pressure, cables, and hydraulic systems to ensure the machine is in good operating condition.

Evaluate ground and soil stability, overhead obstructions, and changing weather conditions to ensure the safe setup of outriggers and stabilizers before lifting.
