Skilled Tradespersons

Construction for Africa Limited, a Zambian construction company undertaking building, civil and infrastructure projects, invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals for the following positions:

1. BRICKLAYERS

Positions Available: 8

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

• Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent.

• Certificate in Bricklaying, Masonry or a related recognised trade qualification.

• Minimum of 5 years’ practical experience in construction, preferably on building or infrastructure projects.

• Demonstrated ability to carry out brickwork, blockwork, plastering and related masonry works.

• Ability to work from drawings, measurements and site instructions will be an advantage.

• Good understanding of construction site health and safety requirements.

2. PLUMBERS

Positions Available: 4

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

• Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent.

• Craft Certificate in Plumbing, Plumbing and Metal Works or a related recognised trade qualification.

• Minimum of 5 years’ practical experience in plumbing works, preferably within the construction industry.

• Experience in water supply, drainage, sanitary installations and associated plumbing works.

• Ability to interpret basic plumbing drawings and specifications.

• Knowledge of construction health and safety requirements.

3. ELECTRICIANS

Positions Available: 4

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

• Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent.

• Craft Certificate in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Installation or a related recognised trade qualification.

• Minimum of 5 years’ practical experience in construction electrical works.

• Experience in electrical wiring, installations, distribution systems, fittings and testing.

• Ability to read and work from electrical drawings and specifications.

• EIZ registration and/or a valid practising licence will be an added advantage, where applicable.

• Strong knowledge of electrical safety requirements is essential.

4. TILERS

Positions Available: 6

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

• Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent.

• Certificate in Tiling, Wall and Floor Tiling, or a related recognised trade qualification.

• Minimum of 5 years’ practical experience in tiling and finishing works.

• Proven ability to undertake floor and wall tiling, surface preparation, cutting, alignment, grouting and finishing.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to deliver quality workmanship.

• Ability to work within project timelines and construction site requirements.

5. PAINTERS

Positions Available: 5

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

• Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent.

• Certificate in Painting and Decoration, Painting and Decorating or a related recognised trade qualification.

• Minimum of 5 years’ practical experience in construction or building finishing works.

• Knowledge of surface preparation, priming, painting and finishing techniques.

• Experience working with different types of paints, coatings and finishes.

• Good attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

Applicants for all positions must:

• Possess the relevant academic and trade qualifications for the position applied for.

• Have practical experience relevant to the position.

• Demonstrate good workmanship, discipline and reliability.

• Be physically fit and able to work in a construction site environment.

• Be able to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary construction team.

• Be willing to work at project sites in different locations as required by the Company.

• Comply with all company health, safety, quality and environmental requirements.
