Senior ICT Specialist

The role of the Senior ICT Specialist is to lead and manage the technology platforms that support the organisation's commercial operations, including retail stores, point of sale (POS) systems, and enterprise resource planning (ERP) applications. The role is responsible for ensuring the availability, performance, security, and continuous improvement of these business-critical systems while supporting the successful opening of new stores and delivering reliable ICT services across all retail operations. The Senior ICT Specialist works closely with business stakeholders to optimise commercial processes, drive operational efficiency, and ensure technology solutions align with the organisation's business objectives.

Key Responsibilities & Critical Success Measures 

• Lead the administration, support and continuous improvement of the organisation's ERP systems, including Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, Sage Evolution and supporting modules
• Manage and support all commercial ICT systems, ensuring high availability, reliability and optimal performance across retail operations.
• Lead the successful delivery of ICT requirements for new store openings, relocations and retail technology deployments. 
• Administer Microsoft Entra ID, Azure and Microsoft 365 services, ensuring secure identity, access and cloud resource management. 
• Design, develop and maintain Microsoft Power Platform solutions to automate business processes and improve operational efficiency. 
• Develop and maintain SQL queries, reports and database solutions to support business operations, reporting and system integrations. 
• Lead and participate in ICT projects, including ERP implementations, upgrades, system enhancements and digital transformation initiatives. 
• Manage ICT budgets, vendors and third-party service providers to ensure projects and services are delivered within scope, budget and agreed service levels. 
• Ensure business systems comply with ICT governance, cybersecurity standards, business continuity requirements and regulatory obligations.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring and support to ICT team members while building strong relationships with business stakeholders to deliver technology solutions aligned with organisational objectives.

Must have skills

• Proven experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is required.
• Strong experience developing SQL scripts and managing Microsoft SQL Server databases.
• Good Knowledge of Azure cloud and integration services
• Project management skills.
• Knowledge of Sage Evolution is Added advantage.
• PowerApps & Power Automate: Custom app development and workflow automation .
• Sage Evolution and Sage VIP experience will be an added advantage.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience in IT
• Professional certification (s) CompTIA IT Fundamentals+, Oracle Database SQL Certified Associate, Azure Data Engineer Associate, etc. are a plus
• ZAQA certified qualifications
