Sales & Marketing Manager

JOB PURPOSE

A results driven Sales and Marketing Manager to provide strategic leadership and drive business growth through effective sales management and impactful marketing. The Sales & Marketing Manager will be responsible for expanding market presence, building the Plush brand, and leading a results-focused team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. SALES MANAGEMENT

- Develop and execute annual sales strategies, budgets, and forecasts to achieve business objectives

- Grow and manage the national distribution network including distributors, dealers, hardware shops and direct accounts

- Identify and secure new business opportunities in B2B and B2C segments: contractors, developers, institutions, NGOs and government

- Lead, mentor and performance-manage the sales team to deliver targets

- Manage key customer relationships and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and retention

- Oversee pricing, credit control and debt collection processes

- Analyze sales data and market trends to inform decision making

- Prepare regular sales performance reports for management

1. MARKETING & BRAND MANAGEMENT

- Develop and implement integrated marketing strategies to increase brand awareness and product demand

- Lead all brand-building activities and ensure consistent brand positioning across all channels

- Plan and execute marketing campaigns across digital, radio, print, outdoor and trade platforms

- Manage company digital presence: website, social media, and online advertising to generate leads

- Develop marketing collateral: product catalogs, color charts, brochures, POS materials and videos

- Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify new opportunities

- Organize product launches, trade fairs, exhibitions, painter trainings and customer engagement activities

- Design and manage trade and dealer incentive programs to drive product uptake

- Collaborate with R&D and Production on new product development, packaging improvements and pricing

- Manage the marketing budget and evaluate ROI on all marketing activities

1. STRATEGIC LEADERSHIP*

- Build and develop a high-performing Sales & Marketing team

- Ensure alignment between Sales, Marketing, Production, and Customer Service functions

- Maintain an updated customer and distributor database/CRM

- Represent the company at industry events, stakeholder meetings and business forums

- Ensure adherence to company policies, quality standards and brand guidelines

KEY REQUIREMENTS

- Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Sales or related field

- Experience: Minimum 5 years’ experience in Sales & Marketing, with at least 3 years in a managerial role

- Proven success in growing revenue, expanding markets, and building brands

- Experience in Manufacturing, Paints, FMCG, or Building Materials is an advantage

- Strong knowledge of Zambian distribution channels and market dynamics

- Excellent leadership, negotiation, communication and analytical skills

- Digital marketing and social media experience

- Proficient in MS Office. CRM experience is an added advantage

- Self-motivated, target-oriented, and willing to travel extensively
