Operations and Finance Manager

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Operations and Finance Manager to lead the day-to-day operations and financial performance of our courier business. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving operational efficiency, managing financial resources, ensuring regulatory compliance, and delivering exceptional customer service while supporting the company's growth objectives.

Key Duties

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the business and ensure efficient service delivery across all departments and branches.
• Develop, monitor, and manage company budgets while controlling operational costs.
• Analyse financial reports and implement strategies to improve profitability.
• Authorise and monitor company expenditure in line with approved budgets and policies.
• Prepare and coordinate statutory returns, including ZRA Tax, NAPSA, NHIMA, and other regulatory submissions.
• Drive sales performance by monitoring branch targets and implementing initiatives to grow revenue.
• Lead, coach, and motivate employees to achieve operational excellence and high productivity.
• Monitor key operational and financial performance indicators and prepare management reports.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable legal, financial, and regulatory requirements.
• Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to improve efficiency and customer satisfaction.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships while ensuring high service standards.
• Work closely with senior management to implement business strategies and support organisational growth.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Logistics, Operations Management, or a related field.
• Professional qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, ZICA, or equivalent will be an added advantage.
• Minimum five (5) years' management experience, preferably within the courier, logistics, transport, or distribution industry.
• Demonstrated experience in financial management, budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting.
• Strong understanding of statutory compliance, including ZRA, NAPSA, NHIMA, and other regulatory requirements.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage operations across multiple locations.
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to drive profitability and business growth.
• Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• High level of integrity, accountability, and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and financial systems.
