Kitchen Staff

Job Summary

The Kitchen Staff member is responsible for preparing high-quality food, maintaining kitchen safety and hygiene standards, and supporting daily culinary operations. This role requires working efficiently in a fast-paced environment while collaborating closely with the front-of-house team to ensure prompt and accurate food delivery.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Food Preparation & Cooking: Prepare ingredients, operate kitchen equipment, and cook menu items according to established recipes, portion controls, and presentation standards.
• Order Efficiency & Quality Control: Manage order tickets promptly, ensure food items are prepared to high quality standards, and coordinate with cashiers/servers for smooth order handoffs.
• Operations and Cleanliness: Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation, perform regular cleaning duties, manage stock rotation (FIFO), and comply with all food safety and health regulations.

Qualifications and Skills

Required Skills:

• Attention to Detail: Ability to accurately follow recipes, uphold quality standards, and execute specific order modifications.
• Communication: Clear verbal communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members during busy rush periods.
• Efficiency and Multitasking: Ability to work quickly and manage multiple tasks simultaneously under pressure.
• Teamwork: Ability to collaborate seamlessly with front-of-house staff and kitchen teammates to keep operations running smoothly.

Qualification Requirements:

• Grade 12 Full Certificate
• Prior experience in a commercial kitchen, fast-food establishment, or restaurant preferred
• Basic knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and health regulations (Food Handler Certification is an added advantage)
