Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Front-End Loader Operator. In this role, you will be responsible for operating a wheel loader to safely and efficiently move, scoop, stockpile, and transport raw materials, manganese ore, slag, and industrial waste to support continuous smelting operations.

📋 Key Responsibilities

• Drive and safely operate front-end loaders to lift, shift, and load manufacturing and raw materials (such as scrap metal, slag, coal, or sand).
• Supply materials efficiently to processing areas, working closely with furnace tappers and metal separators to meet daily production targets.
• Load materials into commercial trucks or stockpiles systematically to prevent overloading or site traffic congestion.
• Perform daily mandatory safety checks on the loader's fluid levels, tire/track conditions, brakes, and hydraulic lifts.
• Clean and grease the loader daily, replacing minor worn parts and reporting complex mechanical faults immediately to the workshop team.
• Keep driving pathways, loading bays, and slag separation zones clear of spills, obstructions, and debris.
• Adhere strictly to Zambian occupational health regulations, site safety codes, and company procedures while wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

🛠️ Required Qualifications And Experience

• Full Grade 9 or Grade 12 School Certificate.
• Valid Class CE Driver's License combined with a specialized Front End Loader Operator Permit.
• A valid Silicosis Medical Certificate is a strict requirement for operating in this industrial/processing environment.
• Demonstrated ability and proven skills in both driving heavy commercial trucks and operating loaders is highly valued by the company.
• A minimum of 2 to 3 years of hands-on experience operating heavy equipment within a manufacturing plant, smelter, or mining setup.

💪 Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Ability to work long, demanding shifts in high-temperature environments near industrial furnaces.
• Capable of climbing in and out of heavy machine cabs and performing manual equipment greasing or minor maintenance.
• Resilience to working productively amidst loud noise levels, dust, slag debris, and varying weather conditions.
