Driver

Reports To: Assistant Human Resource Officer

Location: Lusaka, Zambia

Job Purpose

The Driver is responsible for providing safe, reliable, and efficient transportation services for staff, visitors, and company materials while ensuring company vehicles are maintained in good working condition and comply with all legal and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Transportation

• Safely transport staff, management, guests, and other authorized persons to designated locations.
• Deliver and collect documents, parcels, and office supplies as required.
• Plan efficient travel routes to ensure timely arrival.
• Observe all road traffic laws and company driving policies.

Vehicle Management

• Conduct daily vehicle inspections before and after use.
• Ensure vehicles are clean, fueled, and roadworthy at all times.
• Monitor mileage and fuel consumption.
• Report mechanical faults, accidents, or damages immediately.
• Coordinate vehicle servicing, repairs, licensing, and insurance renewals.

Record Keeping

• Maintain accurate vehicle logbooks.
• Record mileage, destinations, fuel purchases, and maintenance activities.
• Keep copies of fuel receipts and service records.
• Report monthly vehicle usage and fuel consumption.

Compliance and Safety

• Ensure vehicle licenses, insurance, and road tax remain valid.
• Carry out routine safety checks.
• Ensure passengers use seat belts.
• Follow company health and safety procedures.

Administrative Support

• Assist with errands related to company operations.
• Support office logistics when not assigned to driving duties.
• Perform any other duties assigned by management.

Qualifications

Education

• Minimum Grade 12 Certificate.
• Certificate/Diploma in any field is an added advantage.

Experience

• At least 3 years' professional driving experience.
• Experience driving company executives and staff.
• Experience maintaining vehicle logbooks.

Licence Requirements

• Valid Zambian Driver's Licence.
• Clean driving record.
