Business Strategy and Development Lead

We’re an established Zambian business group launching two new ventures, and we’re looking for a strategy lead to take them from idea to launch.

What you’ll do

• Shape the strategy and business model for two early-stage ventures
• Research markets, competitors, pricing and regulations
• Build financial models and test whether the businesses are viable
• Find and negotiate with suppliers and partners.
• Plan and run pilot projects, and turn the results into clear decisions
• Lead a small team.

What we’re looking for

• 5+ years in strategy, business development, consulting or starting a business
• A degree in business, economics, finance or a related field
• Strong financial modelling and Excel skills
• Clear writing, with the ability to turn research into decisions
• Comfortable working in the field and with people at every level, from community traders to corporate partners
• Experience in retail, FMCG distribution, logistics or the Zambian informal market is a plus
• Fluent English; Nyanja or Bemba is an advantage
