Accountant

• Job Description Summary
• Full financial function for the Zambia entity. From processing, day to day activities to Reporting is required.
• Job Description
• Financial reporting and Analysis (Assist with monthly management accounts, forecasts, budgeting)
• Complete monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables that include journal entries, cashbook capturing, allocation of invoices, reconciliations, and reports (closing by WD3, one stream input WD4 and supplementary schedules by WD5)
• Fixed Asset Register Maintenance
• Cashbook capturing
• Capturing and allocation of Invoices
• Submission of Statutory returns (VAT, PAYE)
• Recording and identifying shortcomings in Internal Controls
• Foreign currency transactions
• Assist with audit file preparation and external audit
• Administer Ad-hoc projects as necessary
• Support Finance Lead and daily operations (adhoc)
• Banking maintenance – opening of bank accounts, facilities, vehicle finance
• Manage cashflow – weekly cash forecast and monthly AR report to Treasury

Minimum Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance or a related field from a recognized institution
• Full professional qualification such as ZICA Licentiate, ACCA, CIMA or an equivalent accounting qualification recognized in Zambia.
• Current membership with the Zambia institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA)
• Minimum of 5 years' proven experience as an Accountant in a reputable company or organisation
