Accountant

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Accounting

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
• Overseeing mapping & integration of complete general ledgers/chart of accounts for all modules within ERP systems to get accurate financial results.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and local accounting regulations.
• Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure adequate liquidity for operational needs.
• Ensure timely closing of monthly and annual books of accounts.

2. Compliance & Credit Controls

• Ensure compliance with tax laws, statutory filings (VAT, Income Tax, Excise/Customs, PAYE, etc.), and other regulatory requirements.
• Establish, monitor, and enforce internal financial controls to safeguard company assets.
• Coordinate with sales department on credit limits, balance confirmation and follow-ups on general credit.
• Overseeing internal controls within ERP systems for all new and existing customers to ensure all standard KYC documents are adhered to.

3. Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management

• Supervise, train, and mentor accounting & stores staff to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
• Collaborate with production, procurement, and sales teams for integrated financial management.
• Present financial performance reports and variance analysis to senior management and recommend improvements.
